Hi,
What you could do is discuss your case with the doctor and ask him whether a biopsy would be required. That ways he would either go ahead with a biopsy or explain to you why he thinks it is not necessary.
For the pain, try some warm compresses, OTC pain killers, breast exercises and some local analgesic pain killers. If the pain is still persistent after a few days then you can schedule an appointment with your doctor and get a clinical evaluation done.
You are most welcome. Do keep us posted on what your doctor has advised.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
No my doctor hasn't even mentioned a biopsy. Should I have one or insist that a biopsy be performed. There is some pain, but not at cyst site, the pain is located more under breast and arm. Thanks for all you have done to ease my worries and concerns.
Hi,
No you dont have to be able to feel a cyst in all cases of one being detected by USG. It could be lying deep in the breast tissue and so not palpable or felt on examination. Has your doctor suggested a biopsy for the cyst? Is it painful? The size on USG is relative only and not an absolute indication of the size. Discuss the further management and follow up plan with your doctor.
Its good that you have decided to schedule an appointment about the mole. Its better to have a confirmed diagnosis than to remain in doubt.
Good Luck.
Thank you for getting back to me about mole,I'm going to schedule an appointment for it soon.Heard back on USG,it said that I just have a cyst. But I still don't feel anything there. Is it possible to have a cyst and not feel it.And as large as it looks on ultra sound, should I be able to.
Hi,
It could be an infective lesion. But nothing can be said for sure without having a look at it. In such cases a clinical examination is the most essential diagnostic tool. Schedule an appointment with your physician and get the mole examined. Do you remember hurting yourself at that site, any insect bite, or any tight clothes that may have caused injury due to rubbing or friction?
Keep the area clean, apply some soothing lotion like calamine and see if it helps. If the itching is too much, take an OTC antihistaminic. Meanwhile discuss your USG report ( hope you have got it by now) and this lesion with your physician. Goodluck.
Still haven't heard back on USG.But I have another question,recently I found a mole-like area on my coccyx,itches and burns somtimes,should I be concerned.
Hi,
It means that the mammogram was not able to pick up the mass you mention or that it was normal breast tissue only , negative for malignancy. The USG reports should put all your doubts to rest. Do ask for a copy of both the mamogram and USG report. Goodluck.
Recieved the results back on mammagram(normal-negative).What does this mean for a breast mass?No mention of any type of biopsy. No results back on USG.
No biopsy yet, thanks again, for putting my fears at rest about calcifications, will post about breast mass when I have more information.
Hi,
It is difficult to say if the breast mass and the calcification in the liver are related or not. But as your doctor tells you there is no need to worry about the calcifications in the liver. Go ahead and get a diagnosis for the breast mass established. Has a biopsy been done yet? On mammogram what are the findings? Relax and hope that all will be well. Goodluck.
Thanks for answering my question,I haven't heard back about breast mass yet,I had to go for another mammagram and ultra sound on 12-7-07 for breast mass.I have been experiening pain in my right side for some time now,it would come and go.My Dr. ordered an USG because of my pain. The calcification on my liver was found at that time.So do I need to worry about the calcification also, not just the breast mass.Sometimes I worry too much. I'm 50 yrs old and yes there is a family history of breast cancer. And thanks for the good luck,I think I'm going to need it.
Hi,
What did the mammogram report say? Have you been advised biopsy or ant other investigations? What does your doctor say about the breast mass? Why did you get the USG liver done? Were there any symptoms? What does the USG report say? How old are you? Is there any family history of breast cancer? Discuss all the above with your doctor too. Do ask for a copy of the reports if they have not been given to you. Goodluck.
