breast masses

Mammogram has been reviewed. Dedicated sonographic examination has been performed to the left breast which shows hypoechoic oval shaped nodule at 12 o'clock position approximately 5cm from the nipple measures 8mm x 7mm x8mm. Another hypoechoic nodule identified at 2 o'clock position measures 1.2 cm x0.5 cm x0.7 cm, its sonographic characteristic favoring benign entitie like fibroadenoma also multiple mall anechoic cysts are identified, largest noted at 4 o'clock position measures approximately 1.1 cm x 0.7 cm.  Slightly prominent retroareolar ducts.  Now do I need a Biopsy??  Should I be concerned??  please help as the stress from waiting is to much to bear.. thank you.

Congratulations !!!!  That's the kind of new we like to hear. Please don't forget though if you should happen to discover something that doesn't seem "normal" DO NOT hesitate to have it checked out immediately. It's in your best interest to act rather than wait and wonder.  Once again, we're always glad to hear updates, especially when it's good news.   Regards ...

That's great ..... BIRADS 2 is given when the testing is essentially normal as far as suspicious findings that might indicate the possibility of a malignancy but did show other issues, such as cysts / fibroadenomas. Keep in mid if there is any doubt at all the Breast specialist may order some type of biopsy to be 100% certain.   Regards .....

You have not stated whether the Radiologist has made any recommendation such as a BIRADS number, etc. Included in the report there is usually some note as to what may be needed as a next step. In addition to this your own Dr. who ordered these tests would also be advising you about further testing. Whatever the recommendation I suggest that you follow that plan. According to the report the issues detected seem to be benign Breast tumors but this is something that would be left to the opinion of your treating Physicians. If you have not been contacted by your own Dr. I suggest that you call the office and inquire about his/her opinion OR make an appointment with a Breast Specialist who will review your films and make his/her recommendations.  Regards ...
