breast nodules

hi- Im not sure I'm posting this in the right place. I don't have breast cancer, but I have a abnormal breast nodule that was found about a year ago. I wasnt able to get a breast biopsy so they are having me get an ultrasound every 6 months for two years and if it remains unchanged they'll diagnose it as benign. When i went for my second ultrasound the radiologist said they we're pleased with the results as the nodule had stayed the same. Once and a while ill have breast tenderness but other than that it's fine. But last night i began having stabbing pains in that breast. after an hour they went away. But while at work today it began again and wouldnt let up. the pain became intolerable and i ended up passing out and being rushed to the ER. they thought it could be my heart but alls fine there. The pain was horrible, they started with toridal but had to move to dilaudid and discharged me with percocet. none of it takes the pain away and it still won't let up.
I have an appt on monday with my breast specialist, but I'm wondering if anyones ever experienced anything like this? I have no idea how I could have this nodule for a year now and just suddenly I'm experiencing this kind of pain. It feels like someones actually stabbing me in the nipple over and over. And if anyone has experienced this what can help as even advil and strong pain meds don't relieve it.
thanks for any help

OK, I understand ... good luck with it and continue to work hard because it will be well worth It in the end and may become 'VERY necessary. A biopsy after all could be as simple as a needle stick :)  Take care and Best Wishes ......

thank you for your response. I understand that people think it strange that i didnt have the biopsy done, or in my mother and sisters words...stupid. I unfortunitly have a phobia of medical procedures and its something I'm trying to work very hard at overcoming but I'm not there yet. I have sought out professional help about it so I'm hoping that will help. But just like I have a hard time understanding peoples phobias of spiders and heights, people have a hard time understanding my phobia of medical procedures. It's irrational.
But thank you very much for your response:)

I'm not sure what could be causing your pain unless  somehow a nerve is involved. I certainly don't understand why you wouldn't have had some type of biopsy done on this nodule during this year since it was discovered. This seems a very strange approach to me since a biopsy is the ONLY way to diagnose any finding within the breast. I'm sorry but I can think of no help for your pain other than another complete look at things via film. I hope you will find some releif when you see the Breast Specialist on Monday. Kindest regards .....
