Hi again,
You said that "about once a month",your breast swell and your nipple hurts, including your armpit.
Since you are not yet considered to be completely menopausal, and you are not taking HRT,then this pain could be hormonal such as many women have before menstruation starts.
Try to do relaxing exercises, because anxiety could also cause breast pain.
If this condition continues and is worrying you,I would if I were you, ask the doctor to order more testing and possibly an MRI to make sure that there isn't an underlying problem in your breast.
Take care..

Hi,
You won't know for sure that you've completed menopause until 12 months have passed. So it's quite possible to experience some of the same discomforts one has during menopause during this stage, including breast tenderness.
You should also be aware that breast pain is linked to Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) If you are taking this medication to ease the discomfort of menopause, you should discuss with your doctor about it because women on HRT have health risks that exceeded the benefits.
To lessen the pain you could take an OTC painkiller like Tylenol and wearing a good supportive bra.
Best wishes...
