breast pain

burning pain in left breast nipple just started week ago have had biopsys and had a finger shaped lump that has gone but the burning has started have fibrocystic breasts should i be worried

Hi there.

If the previous breast biopsies revealed this lump to be benign, then I believe there is nothing serious to be worried about.

Burning sensations in the breast can be secondary to the response of the breast tissues to the female hormones that can fluctuate throughout the menstrual cycle.

This can also be due to localized form of infection in the breast, especially in the nipple area, which may be treated with the course of antibiotics.  

If this burning persists even if a cycle of menses has passed, then this may warrant another evaluation from your doctor.
