bruise on left breast

My twelve year old daughter came to me and showed me a bruise
on lower portion of her left breast. It had little brown dots on the bruise
and a hard oblong lump under the bruise. Also the bruise looks
puckered a bit.   She said it has been there a week and
it hurts to touch it. She also said that she had not bumped or injured
herself in any way. Does anybody have a clue as to what it might be?

Often one can bump themselves and not even remember doing it which is the case in many breast bruises. The lump is no doubt a hematoma; bleeding in the tissues beneath the skin.Hematomas can take a considerable length of time to be absorbed. If you are terribly concerned I would advise you to take your Daughter to your Dr. for an examination and some advice as to how you might hasten the absorption of the hematoma.   Regards ....

It sounds as though your Daughter needs a VERY detailed work-up from the symptoms you have described. I wouldn't care to venture a guess as to what the problem may be but I do advise that you continue to investigate this until you have an answer. Either a Pediatrician or Internal Medicine Specialist. This may be something rather serious that needs immediate attention. If you have access to Physicians associated with a Univ. or Teaching Hospital / Medical Center that would be a good place to start. Take care and KEEP LOOKING for the answer.
