No doubt they were seen scattered about within the breast ..... they are indicative of a problem when they are grouped or clustered in patterns. Your BIRAD score was probably a 3 if he recommended a 6 month follow-up.

Biopsies are recommended to be performed according to the BIRAD score assigned by the Radiologist reading the films. It is a standard set up by the Radiology Assn. and is used universally. The BIRAD score in turn is assigned depending on how the calcifications appear.
