cancer concern

I had a lump removed from my right breast in 1999, it was removed and found to be non-cancerous.  It reappeared in 2006, but with the help of medication it dissolved.  It however reappeared in 2008 and i did nothing this time.  Now i have a baby, whom i am breastfeeding.  I have sharp needle like pains in both my breast, I've also noticed my breast milk smells oily, it also differs in colour, anything from clear to white to creamish yellow.  What could be wrong and could it harm my baby?

First I would strongly advise you to have the lump investigated by your Breast Physician .... at least an Ultrasound can be done or even a biopsy could be done to determine what this lump represents. You do know that just because one lump was found to be benign, it doesn't mean that another will be the same. Please see a Dr. about this ASAP for both you and your baby. If you have doubts about the milk from that breast then feed from the other breast and pump the milk from the other and discard it. I doubt this is necessary BUT "better safe than sorry"  Regards ..
