cancer help in ohio

IN SEPT. i found a lump did mammogram, biopsy, ultrasound by dec.17th i had a masectomy of my left breast pathology showed i have invasive mammary carcinoma/lubular. i have a few questions the first ones have to do with some things that happened after my surgery i had drain tubes in for 21/2 weeks, yet after the tubes were removed my surgery site has swollen so much it almost looks like i still have my breast. the surgeon saw this yet said nothing,is it nobrmal to have that much swelling its now 31/2 weeks after surgery and still swollen that much and i am well endowed a dd cup size? and also after the surgery i have been having severe muscle spasms and cramps in my arms, legs, back, stomache, everywhere and they are very severe spasms very painful. now i was diagnosed years ago with fibromyalga (fibromyalgia), and have severe arthritis rhumitoid, osteo,. and severe back problems. could this be the reason for the severe spasms?now my other question my cancer was also in one lymph node does this mean i could have cancer other areas or orgins? my oncologist is running several test the next 2 weeks brain scan, echo cardiogram, bone scan, and a ct scan. i'm very scared and confused at the moment she has said she is not sure yet whether or not i'll be doing chemo, or just radiation because of the lymph node please please help me with answers in terms i can understand thank you

The swelling you mention can be just plain swelling due to the trauma of the surgery; if there is fluid present then that isn't unusual either. This could be drained or drains could be replaced for a period of time but that would be up to your Surgeon. It can be handled both ways or sometimes just left alone to be absorbed on it's own. Some of the pain you describe could be from the nerves being cut during the surgical procedure; something that can't be avoided but this type of pain is usually confined to the breast or chest area. The other discomfort is likely due to your medical conditions that you mentioned. I doubt so soon this would be an indication of metastases. The upcoming tests are a normal course of events following surgery to determine the type of treatment that will be recommended in the future. This seemingly long and tedious routine is the way our treatment is determined and just another necessary evil. Hang in there and you might ck. with your Internist (or whomever treats you medically) about the Fibromyalgia and Arthritis and the increase in pain at this time.  Regards .....
