cancer or not?

by maisy2001, Sep 29, 2009 05:29PM
I'm 43.  About three weeks ago I noticed a small crusty looking bump on my areola under my nipple.  Just one side.  No drainage but painful to touck.  I'm not sure if it is skin cancer or something worse.  It is about the size of an eraser head, yellowish and crusty.  What could it be?

It is really impossible for any of us to speculate what exactly this may mean, but if this is concerning to you, and it would be to me as well just because it would be something I had never encountered before, I would have it checked out, for sure.

When you read advice guides about what symptoms women should not ignore re: possible breast cancer, one of them is crusty nipple. It's only one of many. There is a really good article on WebMD about these signs and symptoms we should never ignore.

Best,

KATRIN
