chemical suppression of ovaries in ER/PR neg breast cancer

Is there any reason to shut down the ovaries for breast cancer that is ER/PR negative?  What would the benefit be for using Zoladex for hormone negative breast cancer?  Thank you.

Dear Ray515:  In general, for cancers that are ER/PR negative, ovarian suppression would not be necessary as part of the cancer treatment. There are studies ongoing that are testing whether suppressing the ovaries with drugs like Zoladex during chemotherapy might prevent early menopause and help preserve fertility and for this investigational purpose, the drug may be used in ER/PR-negative breast cancer.
