children after breast cancer

Hi. I have a question for you.I was a stage 1 hormone positive breast cancer last year.  I would like to have more children.  

Doctor says I should wait two years and then try.  Would it be dangerous and would I be risking my life?

My other question is what about surrogancy. I am still fertile and was wondering because my cancer was hormone positive if it would still be okay if they tried to harvest some eggs from me for surrogancy in someone else?

Dear Becky, Overall, pregnancy is not associated with increased risk of breast cancer. The recommendation for delay of childbearing is not due to the concern with pregnancy influencing the recurrence of the breast cancer, but to wait this amount of time to delay childbearing until after the time of greatest risk of recurrence of the tumor.  A concern here is if the cancer recurs in the midst of pregnancy, the potential need for delay of treatment, due to risk to the fetus.
