colon cancer

My husband was operated in April  of colon cancer fase 3 and is taking Xeloda for chemo.  Some doctors have suggested the normal intravenous chemo, but the oncologist, gave him the oral one.  Is it as effective as the other traditional one? He is feeling FINE and has no side effects (second cycle) and frankly we are happy about this.  In the long run will it be "just as good as" Thank-you

Dear marie7754:  In general, whether the chemotherapy delivery route happens to be intravenous or oral only has to do with how the drug is formulated and has nothing to do with strength.  As this is a breast cancer forum, we suggest you discuss the specifics of colon cancer therapy with your oncologist and if you are concerned, consider a second opinion.
