Now that I know what a complex breast cyst is, do all complex cysts have walls or septations or can they have debris floating around (like calcifications). If you were told you had a small complex cyst and to have it rechecked in 6 to 8 weeks by ultrasound, would you wait or would you have it surgically removed? What are the percentages that complex cysts can be cancerous.
Complex cysts can mean multiple cysts clumped together, or a one majorMajor tears Major-gesic cysts that transformed or becomes septated to develop the same appearance. Some can indeed have calcifications, but there is no accurate way of telling if this can be cancerous (exact figures are hard to tell but only a minority can harbor a malignancyHyperpigmentation w/malignancy Malignancy). Observation is indeed an option, but if you are uncomfortable with observing the lesion, then excision can be your best option.

The appearance and pattern of the calcifications can also give your radiologist the idea if this is likely to be benign or malignant, and if he recommends watchful waiting and observation, then I believe he is considering the lesion to stay benign.
