Hi, I am just wondering I have these cyst in me for a while some are big and some are small is it normal to have cyst that stay? my doctor was waiting a month I think to see if they went down before my mammogram and they didnt . but I also check my self quite a bit does that make a difference in them still being there . my doctor says the more you check they get bigger? he put me on bextra and I totally stoped takeing caffine and takeing vitamin e that seemed to help the pain but not the cyst. I dont get a period because of a hysterectomy when I was 30 I am 39 now so I dont know if this is caused from any of that ? I do have my overies. any info would be appriciated. oh and my breast also feel like thick moveable ropes? is that also fibrocystic changes? thanks

Dear ev900:  Sometimes cysts persist.  In these cases, if they are causing pain, they can be aspirated (fluid removed from them).  Breasts feeling like thick moveable ropes is common in people with cystic problems.  Although you are not having a period, your ovaries are likely still working, which means that you have normal hormone fluctuations.  Sometimes hormones can contribute to cyst development.
