cyst?

Had my annual exam last week, aprn found a oval sized lump in my right breat. She mentioned that it could be a cyst since it was soft and moved around a lot. I then had my mammo.  I had a 2nd mammogram 2 days later and was called back for compression mammos and US today. I am very nervous as the us tech didn't have much to say. I read a lot on the internet about cysts, and it sounds a lot like what I am feeling. I saw part of my US picture and it looked like an oval black spot. I am very nervous that it is cancer and not just a cyst. Any words of encouragement??

Thanks for your words of encouragement. Just found out that it is a fibroedenoma. They are going to biopsy next week to confirm. I am very relieved by this news! Thanks again to allmymarbles as well !

Sounds like a cyst to me. I get plenty of them and have one on my left breast right now. Cysts are totally unrelated to cancer.

My first advice would be to wait for your reports and discuss them in detail with your Physician. It is very possible that this is a cyst which is a benign finding but this will have to be proven either by the films or if there is still some doubt, by biopsy. Sorry to say it's just a "waiting game" at this point so try to be calm and wait as best you can. Everyone says the waiting is the worst.   Regards .....
