dense and nodular parenchyma bilaterally

I want to know if this is very serious to have dense and nodular breast it causes pain sometime please tell the importance of this . I am very scare.

Hi there.

I believe that this report is based on a mammogram report. Young women have really dense and nodular breast compared to older women, and this report really does not mean anything significant. This increased density. precludes adequate assessment of the breast using the mammogram.  For this reason, your doctor may request for additional tests such as a breast ultrasound if he or she thinks that there is something suspicious.

The breast pain is also common among women who are about to enter a new menstrual cycle.  the pain and the density is usually a response of the breast tissues to the hormonal fluctuations during the cycle.  I would recommend continued follow up with your doctor for regular breast examinations.
