do fibrocystic changes correlate w/ current issue???

In my previous post, I did not mention that I had a breast reduction done 1/03.  The path report for rt breast says: rt breast tissue (820 grams) with fibrocystic changes and benign focal intraductal hyperplasia.  Left breast (745 grams) with fibrocystic changes.  Can this have anything to do with what I am dealing with now--complex mass vs. intracystic lesion?  Excisional bx was yesterday and path report will be given on Thursday.  Thank you...

Dear shelbyjosh:  In general, fibrocystic changes make mammograms difficult to interpret.  It may be the reason for the "vs."  Only a biopsy will tell for sure.

fibrocystic changes can manifest themselves in several ways, including the complex mass you previously described.

My biopsy results came back as fat necrosis with cystic degeneration.  Probably from my breast reduction in January.  But will more of these pop up?  If so, will they each need to be biopsied?  What a relief to know that it came back ok.
