early stage cancer

peace to all! I am 41 yr. old filipina, april 15 2010 when i had my biopsy on my left breast ang here are the result;
   A. BREAST MASS,LEFT (10 O'CLOCK),WIRE-GUIDED EXCISION BIOPSY;
       -DUCTAL CARCINOMA IN SITU,COMEDO TYPE
       -FIBROCYSTIC CHANGES WITH FIBROADENOMATOID FEATURE AND USUAL DUCTAL HYPERPLASIA
   B.-BREAST MASS LEFT (1 0'CLOCK) WIRE GUIDED EXCISION;
      -DUCTAL CARCINOMA IN SITU, COMEDO TYPE
      -FIBROCYSTIC CHANGES WITH DUCTAL PAPILLATOMATOSIS AND ATYPICAL DUCTAL HYPERPLASIA
      
WHAT DOES THIS MEANS CAN YOU GIVE ME AN ADVISE WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT? IF I CHOOSE TO HAVE MY BREAST REMOVE  WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES AND DIS ADVANTAGES OF IT AND IF I CHOOSE TO HAVE A  RADIATION TREATMENT WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF IT ALSO? IS THERE ANY PREVENTIVE MEASURES TO AVOID THE SPREAD OF THIS CANCER?

Carcinoma In situ is contained within the duct and therefore does not spread out of the immediate area. As far as the choice of treatment; this is something that you will need to discuss in detail with your Oncologist and/or Surgeon. They will advise whatever treatment will give you the best advantage for a cure. There are side effects from Radiation and those will be explained to you by the Oncology Team. As a rule it is tiredness and of course there is some burning of the skin (sunburn type) and there are creams used to lessen the discomfort from this. The Surgeon can advise you whether just an excision of the two areas can be done easily or if a more extensive surgery would be needed. Regards ....
