enlarged lymph node after biopsy

I am 36 years old and found a pea size lump in my left breast.  I had a mammogram and ultrasound and they found a cyst and fibrocystic  tendencies in only my left breast.  They decided to do a mammotome biopsy and took 8 samples which were all benign.  Doctor wanted to do a breast MRI to be safe.  She said the MRI was fine but my lymph nodes appear to be enlarged and stacking...could this be due to the biopsy I had last week...My breast is still bruised and tender at biopsy site???? Should I get another ultrasound on the lymph node or wait a few weeks???

When lymph nodes, which are located in different parts of the body including the neck and armpit become swollen, it usually indicates infection or inflammation somewhere in the body.Perfumes, deodorants and certain cosmetic procedures like hair removal from the armpit may also cause an allergy or inflammation in the area causing enlargement of the surrounding lymph nodes.
I doubt that the biopsy you had last week has caused the lymph nodes to swell,but it could be a possibility.However,since all your tests results were good,I don't think that the enlarged nodes in your armpit are an indication of something serious.
Depending of course on yours and your doctor's level of concern,he/she may recommend more investigative test or just monitoring the lymph node growth every 3 or 6 months.
It is quite normal to have a bruise and feel discomfort at the biopsy site,not before long,the bruise and pain will disappear.Just make sure that the biopsy site is not swollen,red and appears infected.
