enlarged lymph node in breast

I recently had a mammogram. I was called the very next day. I was told to wait for 6 months and repeat the left side. I feel like 6 months is a very long time to worry about such a delicate and important problem with ant female. please tell me what my next step should be and how soon...............bewildered

Dear hollylyn57:  Without evaluation, including review of the mammogram and clinical breast examination, it is impossible to speculate on what our interpretation may be.  A six month followup is a standard recommendation when a mammogram does not look suspicious but there is something that a radiologist would like to review prior to the usual one year interval.  You might benefit from a discussion with your doctor to find out more about what was seen and whether he/she agrees with the recommendation.

I tried very hard to talk to the doctor. His front office told me that i would have to make another appointment with hthis Doctor to talk to him. He refused to call me back.    Holly
