I am really worried about the biospsy of the micro-calcifications that I am having on Wednesday.  I am going to be on a table with my breast poked through a hole. How degrading.  Then I read that the hole is in the middle of the table because it is a table made for men's prostate? I read earlier that I will have to lay there with my neck turned sideways?  Do they not know that it makes the whole thing worse?  And why can't we be given the same medication through IV like I had with my Colonoscopy? My Doctor has given me some Ativan to take just before the biospsy. She said to wait to take it just before.  I read that some women take it the night before and right before.  Which is right?

I've been there done that. I don't believe the table was built for men. It's just not set up right for it. It's not anymore degrading than having your boob smashed between two plates for the mammo. Definitely take the ativan because it does help to be relaxed as much as possible however, I don't know when the best time is. They really numb your breast up good but you might possible still feel a tiny pinch. Honey, it's no big deal and it HAS to be done. Relax, don't think about and it's not as degrading as a pap.
