when was femara discovered?  how long has it been in use?

Hi there.

From my searches, the FDA approval for femara was given on 2001 for hormone positive metastatic breast cancer.  Presently, it is also indicated for adjuvant treatment for breast cancer (hormone positive also: ER/PR positive) for 5 years, even after 5 years of adjuvant tamoxifen.  There is presently an ongoing clinical trial called BIG 1-98  which assesses several sequencing and duration of femara administration in the adjuvant setting.  The preliminary results are out but the final results will not come out I think for another 1 or 2 years.  Regards.
