Hi,
Fortunately, having been diagnosed with one or several fibroadenomas does not increase the risk of developing breast cancer because they are harmless tumors.
The swelling may also increase in size during the menstrual cycle because of hormonal changes taking place in the body.
Most fibroadenomas lumps are usually painless, but in some women they become tender before the menstrual period.Try to cut down of fatty food and limit your caffeine intake(Chocolate, coffee, cola) as these food can increase the estrogen in your body, thus causing the pain.
Evening primrose oil and Vitamin E may help to relieve the discomforts, but before taking this vitamin, please talk to your doctor first, to prescribe the right dosage or in case it's not suitable for you.
I hope you'll feel better soon.
Take care...

Hi again,
Some women find relief from pain a month or two after eliminating caffeine and fat from their diet while some others take longer.
Here is a list with some more suggestions to help lessen the pain in your breasts:

Trying hot or cold compresses.
Wearing a supportive bra that's been fitted by a professional.
Wearing a sports bra during exercise, but also wearing it to sleep, especially during times when your breasts are especially painful.
Trying relaxation therapy. Severe breast pain may be associated with high levels of anxiety and may improve with relaxation therapy.
Decreasing the fat in your diet. Studies show that decreasing the fat in your diet to less than 20 percent of total daily calories can improve breast pain, perhaps by altering the fatty acid balance.
Simple pain relievers (analgesics), such as acetaminophen and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents, may be effective in alleviating breast pain.
Also your doctor can prescribe effective medication to control this pain problem and at the same time remember to ask about the Vitamin E. okay?.
I hope  that you'll feel better soon.
Best wishes...

Usually women who have breast pain( fibrocystic breast conditions) are recommended to take Vitamin E, in doses ranging from 400 IU to 600 IU per day.Other vitamin suggestions include Vitamin B6, a B complex, and magnesium. But I would,if I were you, check with the breast surgeon before taking any supplements, including the Flax seed pills.
Since I am not a medical professionals I cannot advise you to take any supplements before consulting with your doctor first.
When you are diagnosed with benign fibroadenoma tumors,a follow up after one year is not unusual.
Do your SBE ( self breast exam)every month one week or so after the start of your menstrual cycle and if you notice any new lump or that the lumps you actually have, have enlarged or the pain becomes excessive, you should call your surgeon and not wait one year for a recheck.
If these lumps causes you so much pain,I would suggest to you to talk to your surgeon and see if removing them would be an option.
Take care..
