That does seem a bit long for drainage to continue. First I would advise you to ck. with her Surgeon about the increased amount of drainage. Drains are usually removed after 1 to 2 weeks in place. Most times there are 2 drains; placed in different areas of the surgical site but the drains themselves don't ordinarily cause pain which is even more reason to ck. with the Surgeon. I personally had to have a drain re-inserted about 2 weeks after both mine were removed due to fluid collection. Until the tissue surfaces "stick" together there may be continued fluid production. Please ck. with the Surgeon about this problem ....   Regards ..
