gland under right arm

I am a 42 year old woman.  Believe it or not when I was in college almost 20 years ago!  I shaved my under arms one night, the next day I had all these little  white pimples filled with pus.   and a lot of pain. In the left underarm.  It cleared up on its own.  But the little lump I can feel under the skin is still there.  I dont know if it is a lump or gland, moves, with the skin.  I never pointed it out to a doctor.  It never got bigger and never had pain again.  I read, someone wrote a Dr, had  told them it could have been an infection, that cleared up but the gland never went back to its original size. Anyone have any idea?
Thank You,

Dear Boozy:  A little lump that has been unchanged for 20+ years is unlikely to be anything to be concerned about.  Cysts and other small growths under the skin are very common in this area.  Your doctor should be able to sort this out on examination.
