green mark on breast

Im wondering if you are able to help me regarding my 12 year old daughter she started her periods just before her 12th birthday and she had extreme heavy bleeding which resulted in a blood transfusion. It turns out she has a hormonal imbalance and the doctor has put her on the pill called cilest. She has been on it coming up to three weeks and over 2 weeks now she has been complaining of an itchy nipple,it is dry and  flaky and just below the nipple their is a fairly dark green patch about 1cm long, are you able to tell me is this worth getting checked out by the doctor, and whether it could just be the pill she is on. Many Thanks catd911.

Dear catd911:  Skin on the breast and nipple is like skin anywhere else on the body and is subject to abnormalities (such as eczema, for example).  Without examination, we cannot speculate on the itchiness or the green patch.  Given that this is new and she has been told she has a hormone imbalance, you should have the doctor who prescribed the cilest examine your daughter.

Sorry, I don't know anything about cilest. The dry, itchy nipple is pretty normal but I've never heard of a green patch. The RN will most likely answer your question on Monday and will suggest if you're worried to have it checked out by a doctor.

Hi cat, I am a birth control counselor and I have never heard of itchy nipples nor green patches as a pill side effect. I would see the doctor that prescribed her the pill. (It should be a great help with her heavy periods.) Good luck.
