growth on nipple

yesterday i noticed something attached to my nipple , it looks like a small bunch of grapes and looks like it might have blood inside. When i noticed it yesterday it looked like a dried raisen, purple in colour, but today looks more swollen and red and seems to of grown over night. Do you think i should see a doctor.

Hi there.

These growths can be superficial skin conditions such as infections or hyperkeratoses (increased cell turn over).  This should be evaluated by your doctor, since if this is infection then a course of antibiotics may be warranted.  Rarely, this could be a manifestation of early Paget's disease of the nipple.  A biopsy may also be applicable if your doctor deemed it necessary.

Regards.
