It is indeed possible that this is really dandruffDandruff control Seborrheic dermatitis, possibly with overlying fungal infection on top of the dry skin. It is important to keep the scalp area moisturized, and if the flaking intensifies, you may need to use anti-dandruff shampoos, especially those with an anti-fungal ingredient (like ketoconazoleKetoconazole Ketoconazole topical).
Hair growth after chemotherapy may have a different appearance that your previous hair. These hairs tend to be thicker, and may have a different orientation or direction of growth.
