hard swollen breasts

in the past 5 months 2 weeks before i start my period my breasts become very sore swollen and hard. they seeem to grow a cup size. this usually lasts until my period ends. everyone i know and ask says this is not normal, now im worried

Dear Barbara2586:  It is not uncommon for breasts to swell prior to the menstrual cycle and return to normal afterward.  Swollen breasts can also feel harder.  If you are worried, consider having your doctor take a look.
