hardening in nipple after stereostatic core biopsy

I had stereostatic core biopsy 10 days ago, taken place in the periareolar/subareolar position. After removing the steri strips, I found a hardening mass in the areolar region . When I touch it, it is seems right down the skin of the areola. It is about an inch down the wound from the biopsy. There is some bruise in that region as well. Is it normal? Has anyone got similar problem? I am so afraid that the biopsy had lead to spread of cancer cell forming the mass. I was diagnosed with ductual papilloma from the core biopsy. Any response is highly appreciated. Thank you.

Rest assured that the lump around the area of the biopsy is not a cancerous mass.
When you have a biopsy, it entails  bleeding and injury to the skin and.What you have could very well be is a hematoma (collection of blood) and it's not unusual at all to feel a lump and have some bruising after such a procedure.This lump should disappear or flatten over a matter of weeks.You could gently massage your breast and use some warm compresses to help dissolve the hardening.
If things don't get better after a while,then I would advise to see your doctor for evaluation.
