I had neck pain, went to the Dr. found compression fractures,I had not fallen. The culpret was a tumor, and a bunch of tests later I have been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer metasasized to the vertebrea, possibly rib and spots are questionable on my liver. I just had a stiff neck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there.

I'm sorry to hear what happened.  These compression fractures can be treated with either radiation therapy or surgery or both.  You can also inquire about drugs called bisphosphonates (pamidronate, alendronate, zoledronate) which can limit bone damage caused by metastatic cancer.  For purely bone metastasis, the prognosis is better compared if you have metastasis to other major organs (liver, lung, etc).  I also suggest for you to have a PET scan to ascertain the nature of the liver spot.  I hope you can start treatment soon.  Regards and God bless.
