Dear kathysturn:  There are a variety of types of radiation therapy.  Many of these have very specific indications in terms of type of cancer and extent of disease. One type of intravenous therapy may be with Strontium or Quadramet, which can be effective for reducing the pain of bone mets, but risks and benefits would need to be fully discussed with your radiation oncologist. Without knowing more about what you are referencing, it is difficult to answer your question.

I have had bc since 97. Bone mets since 2001, had left hip replacement in 2002. I have had many doses of chemo, 3 separate rounds of radiation, but never liquid radiation. Recently 7/05, I was diagnosed with brain mets and cancer cells in my spinal fluid.I am curious how your sister is doing and where she received the liquid radiation. Look forward to hearing from you.
