how far metastasis have gone

Good Day
My wife had been diagnosed as breast cancer a lumpectomy done together with LN axillary clearance , the pathology came out revealing lump had been removed with a safety margin 1 cm all around , the other specimen from axilla revealed 1 positive LN from total of 22 have been removed. She then received 4 cycles of mixed adriamycin and endoxan and her doctor decided Taxotere 100mg /m2 every 3 weeks which suppose to start next weeek and then she will commence Radiation.after the chemotherapy course have been completed
My question is how far metastasis have gone and what is her prognosis
Thank you

Have you and your wife directed this question to her oncologist?

Given that she had one positive lymph node, the next step would generally be to do a full evaluation, including CT-PET scans to look for any distant metastases.

After revieving all of the tests, the oncologist would be able to tell you if any signs of metastasis were found.

Best wishes to both you and your wife,

Good day
Thank you very much for your comment and advise. In fact abone scan was done which was clean also uss abdomen was clean , now locally there is some pain in the upper lateral quadrant of the same breast ' op was left lower quadrant' . The oncologist said now you don t have anything all what you taking is just prophylactic . But iam really worried about any complaints, she has recieved her 1st Taxotere cycle last thursday with no problems. She will also travel to Germany on 5th Dec for further investigations and complete her Taxotere cycles followed by Radiation.
Thank you

Thanks for sharing the additional information.

I am glad to hear that your wife's evaluation was negative for distant mets.

Once someone has been diagnosed with cancer, it is common to feel very anxious in regard to any new symptom that occurs. It is wise to report them to the oncologist, as she has done.

I understand that although the oncologist offered reassurance, you are still concerned. I hope the further evaluation in Germany will also be negative; then perhaps you and your wife can just concentrate on completing her treatment.

Meanwhile, it might help you to know that BC usually doen't present with pain, so this new pain that she is experiencing might be related to some benign finding, or to the axillary dissection she underwent,  which can result in nerve damage, for example.

Once again, I wish you both all the best,
bb

Thank you very much for your support , and for this usefull informations you have added to me . Let me also tell you that she is also started complaining from some back pain which is most probably caused by the Taxotere since it works on the bone marrow and the oncologist expected the pain and also said the WBCs will go down very low by the end of the first week followin the infusion of Taxotere then starts to go to its normal level from 7th to the 10th day post infusion.
Thank you so much and will update you by any symptom and also the details of the further evaluations
