hypoechoic noncystic breast lesion

I recently had a mammogram, followed by a compression mammogram and an ultrasound.  they have indicated a hypoechoic noncystic lesion and recommend a biopsy.  Is this usually malignant, and what can I expect?  Thank you.

Only the biopsy will be able to confirm the cause of this lesion. All breast lesions are not due to cancer but each and every one needs to be investigated to a conclusion. You didn't mention the type of biopsy but perhaps you haven't seen a Surgeon yet and don't know which type will be done. It's impossible to say what you might expect at this point; when you have more information don't hesitate to post any concerns you may have regarding the biopsy.  Take care ....
