hypoechoic solid nodule

hypoechoic solid nodule

I am 38 years old and since I had a pain on my left breast the doctor asked me for an ultrasound, the results read like this: "at the 4 o'clock position close to the nipple there is an oval hypoechoic solid nodule. Maximum diameter is in the transverse and is 1.0 cm. Finding has smooth demarcated margins. The finding is in keeping with a fibroadenoma. At 12 o'clock there is a 4.0mm solid nodule also in keeping with a fibroadenoma."  My question is should I wait 6 months for re-evaluation (as recommended for the technician) or should I ask for a biopsy, or maybe should I go for a second medical opinion.

If you aren't comfortable with the report you could ask for a second opinion from another Radiologist. The fact that you had breast pain would lend itself to the finding of fibroadenoma and a biopsy was not recommended. A recheck in 6 months seems reasonable to me but if you aren't comfortable with it then by all means get a second opinion.    Regards ....
