intermammory lymph nodes

my  wife  has  developed  sore  area  with  palpable  nodual 2cm  x 3cm left breast.
u/s  was  done  noted  13mm  x  9mm  area  listed  not as  cyst  recomended mammogram went  2 days  later  had  mammogram   this  did  not show  the  same  nodules.  some  cyst  noted. stated  low  concern of  metastatic disease.  my  question  could  the  mamagram  have  ruptured something.  the  pain  has  gotten  worse  over  past  few  days.

Since the Mammogram showed cystic areas and cysts are rather painful this is most likely the nature of the nodules described previously. Breast Cancer is rarely,if ever,associated with pain. Most Mammograms and Ultrasounds are assigned a BIRADS score but you didn't mention this in your post. The numbers indicate what, if any, further investigation is recommended. I would doubt that the Mammogram would do any such damage as you asked. With Fibrocystic Breast Condition a Mammogram can increase the breast discomfort though and this may be what your wife is experiencing. The pain also is cyclical in accordance with the hormone levels in the body.     Regards ....
