I hope this will answer your question..After my biopsy I asked how long can I wait to have my surgery and the radiologist told me (I had InvasiveGestational trophoblastic disease Invasive Minimally invasive heart surgery Noninvasive Noninvasive test Squamous cell carcinoma - invasive ductal carcinoma) that the tumor would not get worse even if I had to wait for 6 months.Of course it didn't take that long .. I was called to meet with the surgeon maybe 6 weeks after my biopsy and two months after( my biopsy) I was operated. So try to stay calm and soon you will be called to meet with the surgeon.Ask any question you would like to ask.We are all here to help you.Best wishes.
It's not unusual to have to wait for a referral to a Surgeon. When cancer is discovered it's most likely been present for years ..... I personally waited for over a month between diagnosis and surgery. I don't know that it's ever too late since you have been diagnosed and all these steps take time. I'm sure you will get an appointment as soon as possible but there may be more waiting so try to calm yourself and take things one step at a time. In the meantime you might see if your local hospital has a supportSupport Support 500 group which I think you would find helpful now as well as after surgery. Regards ...
