is this something to be concerned about?

I am 26 yrs old the mother of 2 the oldest 5 and the youngest 3 months.I recently noticed a tiny white bump under the nipple on the aerola.I do not breastfeed and there isn't any discharge from the nipple or from the bump.I have seen my ob-gyn and he told me it was a clogged milk duct and that I still had some pillferated ducts and that this one was just a little more and that he would keep an eye on it and advised me to apply heat as that may help it to discharge but it hasn't as of yet.It hasn't gotten any bigger and i just had my first menstrual this month since the baby was born and have started the birth control pill.I have noticed some mild pain from time to time but it seems it didn't start until i started the bcp.Could this be connected and does this sound like cancer? Is there any other way to treat this I tried to pop it but it wouldn't and my doctor told me not to because it could cause an infection.Could it be infected or even a cyst?No one in my family has ever had breast cancer and I am du for my yearly exam in January.

Dear scoobygirl, It could very well be a clogged milk duct as your doctor mentioned. It does not sound like a cancer problem. Keep an eye on it and see if it clears up. If it worsens, or starts causing you discomfort let your doctor know.
