itchy breast and pimples on areola

itchy breast and pimples on areola

I'm a 26yr old female. I have been experiencing itchy breast. I've had hives before but never on my breasts. I read on a few sites that hives on the breast might be a symptom of inflammatory breast cancer. Which is very scary. I went to my doctor and told him I had a rash on my breast. He laughed and said he'd never heard of such thing, and told me he doesn't see anything on my breast. I can see it and feel it and my breast are itchy. So I'm looking for a second opinion. I'm waiting on a referral to see a dermatologist. The rash has gone done, but my breast are still itchy. And I now have noticed "pimples" on my areola. I'm very scared and would like some insight as to what this might be so I can know what to expect

Dear lalu99:  Skin on the breast is like skin anywhere else and is subject to a variety of abnormalities - including rashes.  Have you bought a new bra, changed detergent?  The "pimples" on your areola are probably montgomery's glands which are a normal part of the anatomy.  Inflammatory breast cancer generally presents as a hot to touch, red and swollen breast (on one side).  A dermatologist is probably the right doctor to evaluate a skin rash.
