itchy nipple and nipple discharge

iI hope someone could give me insight on my bizarre symptoms.  I'm 44 years old and never had a itchy nipple, so of course it got my attention... It's very itchy on the tip of the nipple. this has been going on for 6 days. I also have nipple discharge (light tan color)   I told my gynocologist about the discharge about 2 years ago and he didn't test it. He said that some women's milk always comes down?!  My son was born 5 years ago.  Now with the itching, it really has me thinking....could this be a sign or symptom of a breast cancer/     If someone has had these symptoms, could you please give me some knowledge on this topic?   Thank you

Have your doctor check for pagent's disease, I think that is what I have, too. My normal Doctor told my to apply Cortizone cream to it several times a day, which did not help at all. Pagent's is a form of breast cancer so don't take any chances and don't take no for the first answer, most Doctors miss this disease until they are pressed into further test.
Good Luck.

milky coloured discharge can be quite normal on squeezing esp with stimulation. but light brown discharge would suggest blood, so they should have tested it really. but any spontaneous discharge should be checkd out. plus the itching.

OMG I read your question & I could have wrote it - almost word for word.  I am almost 40, but am experiencing the exact same symptoms. I have never had a problem with my breasts, but over the last 6 days my left breast has been extremely itchy, especially around the nipple.  Then today, I noticed some milky discharge coming from the nipple before I was taking a shower. It has be totally freaked out.

I don't have a family doctor right now, but am going to try to see a GP tomorrow.
I will keep you posted.

Good luck & let me know what happens with you.

Nipple discharge isn't all that uncommon and it can be almost any color and consistancy. On rare occasions it can occur with one type of breast cancer but not anything similar to what you describe. I would see my Physician and have it ck.d out in any event. As you can see from other posts on the Forum today, you are not alone. Anything that occurs regarding the breasts deserves the attention of a Physician to determine the cause.   Regards..
