JP drains are a pain in the patootie. These drains are inside your body sometimes 7 to 12 inches. So, when you want to work your drain, let me suggest you put a little KY jelly between your fingers which helps them glide over the tube quickly and efficiently.

If you have silastic drains they don't hurt when they come out.

The first breast surgeon I had used JP drains and that did hurt when coming out, just take a deep breath and it's over.

Once it's out,, life is much better.
