level 4 microcalification

i went to Dr today and he said i have a level 4 microcalification what dose that mean ? Is he trying to say i have brest canser or is he trying to prepaire me to be told this.A bref history about me and my Dr this is first time i seen him.I was refurred to him after 2 abnormal mamograms and all he did was read the results and refurred me to the Susan G Colman center in Dallas

Unless he meant that your BIRAD score was 4 which usually requires a biopsy of some sort to determine if the abnormality is benign or cancerous. I would think you would have been referred to a Surgeon to determine what type of biopsy would be best in your particular case. The Susan G. Komen Foundation does help with funding for uninsured and underinsured women and I'm guessing that is why you were referred there.

I don't think they can really tell if its cancer without a biopsy and or lumpectomy, as in my case. Birad 4 with microcalcifications....hope this helps
