light weight lifting

Several health care pros told me not to have my blood pressure taken or blood drawn from the arm in which I had my sentinel node removed.  Will I always have to be this careful and will it be possilbe to resume light weight lifting if I'm not having pains?

Hi,
Unfortunately after the removal of one or more lymph nodes, you have to take every precaution(for life) concerning injections or taking your blood pressure. Also you should be careful not to injure you arm or hand, because you could get Lymphedema.
I have added for you a site that will inform you about everything you need to know to prevent the swelling of the arm and hand that cannot be cured but only controlled.

http://www.cancer.org/Treatment/TreatmentsandSideEffects/PhysicalSideEffects/Lymphedema/WhatEveryWomanwithBreastCancerShouldKnow/lymphedema-with-breast-cancer-to-prevent-lymphedema.

Hoping that this information will be of some help.

Take care and best wishes...
