liver, breat and armpit. Help!

I am a 26 yr old female. I contracted Hepatitis C as an infant. I also had a lumpectomy performed back in 2007.
Last year in 2010, I had this terrible pain in left breast (opposite breast where I had the lumpectomy). There was green discharge with blood and my armpit was swollen. They gave me antibiotics and it took two rotations, but it went away. Strep, staph and other common infections were ruled out after cultures were done.
Soon after I had a sonogram done on armpit and breast and everything seemed fine.
Since a year ago, my armpit will sometimes swell up and become VERY painful to the point where I can't touch it. The lump always is deep under the skin. They usually last a few days at a time and cause sweating and mild fevers (though I was never known to have high fevers even when I'm very sick). No new lumps in my breasts. Could this have to do with my liver since I've had Hepatitis C my whole life? I am trying to hear out some options here before I go to a doctor because I cannot afford one and have no insurance.

It is possible that what you have been experiencing is a recurrence of the infection you had in 2010. Such infections can be difficult to cure completely, and sometimes become chronic. You really do need to see a doctor. Even though you do not have insurance, most hospitals have provisions to care for medically indigent people. You could discuss this with your local health dept. or the social service dept. of your hospital.

Another reason you should see a doctor is that this could be something unrelated to any of the previous illnesses you mentioned, so it needs to be evaluated and diagnosed. For example, one of our members was checked repeatedly for breast issues, but  was eventually diagnosed with lymphoma.

Best wishes,
