Hi there.

Breast cancer spreading to the liver indicates advanced disease.  The treatment would require systemic form of therapy like hormonal treatment (tamoxifen or aromatase inhibitors if the tumor is ER+) or chemotherapy.  The 5 year survival of patients with metastatic disease is around 20-30% and therapy would be aimed to control the disease (shrink observable tumors) and improve symptoms.  Chemotherapy regimens may include adriamycin, taxol, cytoxan, taxotere, and the new biologic agents avastin, herceptin, or lapatinib.

Wishing you and your wife all the best.  Regards and God bless.
