lump and pain in right breast

I started having right sided breast pain two days ago & discovered a lump there. It is noticeable all the time but more painful with touch. It feels best when wearing a bra. I called my physician's office & was told it may be hormonal. They suggested waiting until my next cycle to see if it gets better. I had my period 1 1/2 weeks ago.
I am working out of town, so I can't see my regular doctor until November. Should I be more concerned & go to urgent care now?

As I have stated before .... we cannot say that NO pain is EVER experienced with Breast Cancer ... we also refrain from stating a diagnosis but refer women to their Physician for examination.

Your breast pain and the lump could very well be due to hormonal changes as your Doctor suggested… Lumps such as cysts, could come and go throughout the menstrual cycle,but if the lump does not go away after your next period,then your Doctor should examine you and determine if it  needs to be further investigated. Waiting an extra month to see your Doctor won’t change the outcome,but if you are really worried waiting till next month, you could go to an urgent care clinic where they can see you right away.
