Hi,
I can surely understand how stressful it must be for you to have discovered a lump in your axilla area, after your last bout with lung cancer.Of course I cannot tell you not to worry, but please keep in mind that there are many causes of underarm lumps, and the vast majority are not harmful. This could be a sebaceous cyst, a lipoma (fatty tumor), a cyst etc..
Also it could be a swollen lymph node that most often indicates a bacteria or viral infection and it doesn't necessarily mean that something bad is going on.However, it is necessary to investigate this lump by having a mammogram as your doctor recommended to obtain a correct diagnosis.
Depending of course on what your mammogram results will be,your doctor will let you know if further investigation is needed or not.
I truly hope that there is nothing serious regarding this lump and wish you all the best....
Take care...

I think you just have to wait for the results of the mammogram.  Remember also that a lung metastises is not the same as a new breast cancer.
