Lisa,
I have had two Mammgrams, neither painful, just uncomfortable. 19th March last years aged 39 I was diagnoised with BC.
You know you have a lump and it is on your mind. Do you seriously think you will be able to get on with a normal life and forget about it? As Jen1967 said, knowledge is power. Unfortunately a Mammogram and Ultrasound are the tests for BC. Of course none of us want to go through these tests, but the alternative, well that's for you to decide.

Oh please get the mammogram! I know its a horrible thing to have to do but its worth saving your life. I just got my first last Monday because I had a lump. Now they are telling me it might be cancer. I am getting my results back from a biopsy taken last Wed and of course I am a nervous wreck. But think of the alternative. You don't want to be carrying around a malignancy when you could start to get rid of it. Knowledge is power! This site is an excellent resource - full of sisters who care. Please- for your family's sake if not your own - please go get one!
