by cheepa, Jan 15, 2008 06:51AM
I feel a lump under amy arm pit and when pressing on it it hurts, I went for a mammo. yesterday, but they rescheduled me for a ultrasound when I told them about the lump. The tech felt it and when she pushed in it hurt. What could it be?

Hi,
I do not know the answers, but I am going through something like this, right now, also. I thought I had a lump,..but only my husband agreed with me,..The Dr.(obgyn) could not feel the lump, but had a mamo and ultra sound done, the mamo showed nothing, the ultrasound showed thickened tissue on the top section of one breast. I told the DR. I was still concerned, he sent me to a surgeon, who felt it, and said, unless it gets bigger, not to worry,..Well, It did not get bigger, but I now feel two more lumps??? I went to our family DR. last Thursday, and He did not feel the lump the surgeon felt, but felt one of the new ones, and says safe rule of thump, is that if it is big enough to feel, it is big enough to come out, He does not feel this one is a cyst,..it is kind of under my arm pit, and hurt real bad coming, Now just off and on,..He said cancer never hurts? I have herd people disagree with that fact as well,.. But until you can get it checked out, no one can say for sure. But if you find out as to what it is, or why it hurts, before I find out on mine, Please share,..and I will as well,..It is driving me crazy, waiting to find out.
I have already had Cervical cancer, resulting in a complete hysterectomy, and am only 29. And at the moment that spot is letting me know it is there,..I thought I had a lump, around the time of my hysterectomy,..July12th,..Waited three months to get it checked out, and my new lump has only been around, ? maybe 6 weeks, that I am aware of??
Sorry, I can't offer any answers,..but here wishing you the best of luck!!

Hi,

Well an arm pit lupm could be enlarged or felt due to shaving, waxing or using a deodarant.

It needs further evaluation to be sure of the diagnosis.

What is your age? Have you noticed anything abnormal on breast self exam?

Was the mammogram report normal?

Do ask for a copy of the mammogram and USG reports.

Do let us know about the progress in your case.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.
